Our seats on Easter Sunday looked much different this year. We sat in front of our computers and watched our pastors preach their sermons online.

Together, we remembered the fear and grief of the Israelites on that first Passover. Together, we remembered the anxiety and hopelessness of the disciples after Christ’s death.

And together, we also remembered the joy and hope of the women who brought news of the risen Christ. Their story serves as a reminder to capture that same joy and hope in our hearts when we are anxious or afraid.

And now, after Easter Sunday? As Christians, our commitment to bear witness to Christ’s sacrifice is what moves us forward. As Jesus told the disciples after the Resurrection, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24: 46-49)

Our joy and hope in Christ does not mean the end of suffering, but it is our weapon against fear and dark times. We remain steadfast in our commitment to share that joy and hope with the world.

This pandemic continues to change our lives in countless ways. We pray daily for you, for those on the front lines, and for those who stay home to keep us all safe.

Here at Chalk Line, we remain open for business, and we will continue to keep our doors open for you.

By His grace,
The Chalk Line Team

Dear Chalk Line Customers,

This week at Chalk Line we have continued processing letters for your ministry partners as God called us to do more than 15 years ago. It is our mission to help you continue to fulfill the Great Commission, even during uncertain times.

Many of you report that your partners are eager to hear that you are okay and what you are doing to pivot as ministry events are being postponed and canceled. Others shared that despite the global crisis, they are continuing to share opportunities to partner in the Great Commission through the digital tools available to us now.

We recognize that it’s even more important to stay connected when we are ministering from a distance, and many of you may be using the coming days to connect with ministry partners through phone calls, thank you notes, and prayer letters. But when our hearts are anxious and uncertain, it can be hard to find the right words to say. And we want to help.

In collaboration with missionaries such as yourself, we have prepared a sample update letter for you to utilize this month as a template to get you started.  You can download it from Google Drive here: https://bit.ly/2QOzj2L

When writing, keep these things in mind:

  • Consistency is key; send a prayer letter each month.
  • Cast inspiring vision with one good story.
  • Share details about your life and how God is working in it so they can get to know you.
  • Express gratitude and appreciation for their generosity.

Please know that we are praying for you from Chalk Line’s office in San Marcos, Texas. We thank God for each of you and are here to serve when you need us.

Sincerely,

The Chalk Line Team

Dear Chalk Line Customers,

We recognize that this is a challenging time as you make important decisions regarding your personal safety and normal ministry. Our team is prayerful, first and foremost, that you and your loved ones are safe.

For our customers who rely on the generous donations of individuals and organizations to sustain them financially, times like this can be anxiety-producing. One of the benefits of Chalk Line being a small, family-run business is that our doors are open. We remain here to support your efforts to communicate with your partners during this volatile time.

As travel is suspended, and projects are paused, communication to your partners is key. This is a unique moment to connect with your partners and thank them for their investment in your ministry.  A few ideas:

  • Send out a newsletter
  • Catch up on thank you notes
  • Call ministry partners and connect
  • Update your magnets, leaving pieces and business cards
  • Schedule a day for planning your next quarter’s fundraising efforts

Please let the team at Chalk Line know how we can support your efforts to stay connected to your ministry partners during this challenging time by emailing tiffany@chalkline.org. We are praying for you.
